My name is Hilary and I am a court registered translator and interpreter living in Normandy with my French husband and two cats.
Before moving to France, I had quite a varied career.
I read English Language at Sheffield University and, after graduating, worked in France as a holiday rep., completing summer seasons on campsites in Normandy, Brittany and the Camargue and a ski season in the French Alps.
On returning to the UK, I worked on the information desk at Gatwick Airport and then in Air Traffic Control, before joining Eurostar in anticipation of the start of their train service between the UK and France and Belgium.
I relocated to France in 2000 and started up a B & B business (chambres d’hôtes) on the Brittany/Normandy border close to Mont St. Michel.
Having helped friends and family with French administration matters, I decided in 2006 to start a business doing the same thing.
In 2008 I met and then married my French husband Gilles, who is the project manager for a construction company.
We live in CHÈVREVILLE in the Manche (50) département in Lower Normandy, close to the borders with the départements of Orne (61), Mayenne (53) and Ille-et-Vilaine (35) and also have a base in QUERQUEVILLE (post code 50640), at the tip of the Cotentin peninsula near Cherbourg.
